The Friendly Food Club Run by The Friendly Food Club The Friendly food club (FFC) who have been working with a PPG and their volunteers to offer a 6 week fully funded cooking course. This course is delivered by the FFC for the first 2 weeks, then for 2 weeks by the volunteers under FFC supervision and solely by the volunteers the final fortnight – who are then trained and able to deliver as many subsequent courses as they wish. Recent demos have attracted audiences mainly of men. Target groups have been pre-diabetic patients and those with hypertension, but the offer may also be ideal for Countrymen’s Clubs, Andy Mans Club, the Men’s Shed and faith groups who are involved with church breakfasts. Many widowed men lack the skills to provide a home cooked meal if they have lost a partner. If your PPG or organisation would be interested in hosting this cooking course please contact the organiser@thefriendlyfoodclub.org More information can be found here www.thefriendlyfoodclub.org Community Cookery kits There are also community use mobile cooking kits/kitchens kept by a ‘host’ which can be borrowed and returned.
