My NoticeboardTechnology Enabled Care (TEC) Assessment & Equipment Referral Process
The TEC Lounge in Dorchester can help patients find appropriate digital equipment to help with independent living. Referral process below. You have identified a patient who could benefit from Technology Enabled Care (TEC) and needs an assessment and provision of TEC under the Care Act. Linked TEC (e.g., Dorset Council funded careline and related monitoring equipment) If the person is already receiving a service from Adult services (Dorset Council) you can contact this person /team directly and ask them to assess for TEC, this assessment and referral form can be sent to them. Otherwise, use the assessment & referral form and email the request to the Adult Access Team at [email protected]. Add a brief explanation in the email as to what equipment and/or support is required. Contact the Digital Care Coordinator for more info. Patients can request assistive technology, such as personal care alarms and other equipment for the home. If the referral is successful a member of the TEC Team will investigate further, provide assistance including installation. Standalone TEC (e.g., alerting devices linked to a pager within the same household): If the person is already receiving a service from Adult services Dorset Council) you can contact this person /team directly and ask them to assess for TEC. Otherwise, NHS colleagues are expected to assess, place an online order via TCES, and review this equipment. For those who have not already got access to TCES - Medequip's TEC ordering website, you will need to complete Medequip’s short online TEC ordering training module and quiz. Once completed, you’ll receive login details for the ordering portal.
