Help
My Noticeboard lists local support, community groups and what’s on, starting along the Jurassic Coast. It is free and you do not need an account to use it.
Guides
- For community groups: claim and update your listing, add events, keep your contact details private.
- For link workers and other professionals: resource sheets, take-away plans, the team library and checking listings.
- For agents and developers: open data and the MCP server.
WarningIf you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent mental health help, call NHS 111 and choose option 2, or Samaritans free on 116 123, any time.
Finding support and groups
- Type what you are looking for in your own words, for example “dementia support” or “walking group for men”. You can add a town or postcode, and choose how far you are willing to travel.
- Results are grouped: near you first, then services covering the wider area, then national, phone and online services.
- You can also browse by topic or by town or village.
- Every listing says when it was last checked and by whom. Groups change: contact them before you travel.
What’s on
- What’s on shows sessions today, in the next two hours, this weekend or next week. Filter by town, topic, who it is for, and how you take part (in person, online, by phone or a home visit).
- “For people at home” shows things you can join without going out.
- The calendar shows a month at a time. You can add a town’s, a topic’s or a group’s events to your phone’s calendar; if a date is cancelled, your calendar shows it.
Saving, sharing and printing
- Choose “Add to My picks” on any listing or event to build a list. My picks can be printed, shared by link, or added to your calendar. No account is needed.
- With an account you can save lists and resource sheets, and get an email when something on them changes.
Large print, plain text and maps
- Every listing has a large print version and a plain text version, which you can copy into an email or text message.
- Search results can be shown as a list (the default) or as cards with pictures.
- A map is available if you want it. It loads only when you open it, and everything on it is also in the list.
- The site works without JavaScript and on slow connections. Read our accessibility statement.
Getting in touch with a group
Most listings show a phone number, email or website. Some groups keep their email private: their listing has “Send them a message through My Noticeboard” instead. Sign in, write your message, and we forward it by email. The group sees your email address so they can reply. We do not keep a copy. It is not for emergencies.
If something is wrong
- On a listing, choose “Suggest a change to this listing”. A curator checks suggestions before they appear.
- If a group or event has stopped, choose “Report that this has stopped”.
- Know a web page that lists local activity? Tell us where to look.
- Anything else: email [email protected].
Your account and your data
