About My Noticeboard
Why it exists
My Noticeboard grew out of a gap seen from inside local health and care. People who help others find support spend a lot of time just finding out what’s on, and directories go out of date quickly. In Devon, the Pinpoint directory closed in 2024 because its listings went stale.
So the aim is simple: one place for local support, community groups and what’s on near you, kept up to date.
How it stays up to date
- Groups can confirm their listing is still right in one click, with no account.
- Social prescribing link workers and others can tell us what they’ve checked.
- Our software reads groups’ own public web pages and suggests updates, with AI helping to read them.
Nothing changes on a computer’s word alone. An update needs the group itself, or two independent sources, to agree, and people check anything uncertain.
What we stand for
- Free to use, with no adverts and no tracking.
- Open data that councils, the NHS and others can reuse.
- Easy for everyone to use: we aim higher than the legal minimum for accessibility.
- Privacy first: we never publish named people’s personal details.
- Run by the community: we plan to become a co-operative of the people who use and support it.
Where it’s going
We’re starting in Bridport. Our aim is that 9 out of 10 listings there have been checked in the last three months, so you can trust what you read. Then we’ll grow along the Jurassic Coast and beyond.
Get involved
We’d love to hear from:
- community groups, to keep your listing up to date or tell us what’s missing
- link workers, GP practices and health teams, who can get professional access and share resource sheets
- councils and the NHS, about using the open data or a maintained data feed for your area
- volunteers, to check listings in your town, write in plain English or test accessibility
- people elsewhere who would like something like this where they live
- funders and partners
Email [email protected] with ideas, offers of help or problems. We read everything.
Who’s behind it
My Noticeboard was started by a local volunteer on the Jurassic Coast with a background in health and care. It is an independent community project, not run by or for the NHS.
