Terms of use

Last updated 5 November 2026

My Noticeboard is an independent, unincorporated community directory of local groups, services and events. This page explains what the directory does, what to check for yourself and how to put a listing right.

For information, not urgent help

We are not an emergency, crisis, medical, legal or social care advice service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent mental health help, call NHS 111 and select option 2. You can also call Samaritans on 116 123. See our urgent help page.

Check listings before relying on them

Groups confirm some listings; community members and professionals suggest corrections; software, sometimes assisted by AI, reads public web pages and suggests updates. Automated readings can be wrong, and a listing may still be incomplete or out of date. Events may be cancelled and details such as times, prices, access and contacts may change. Check directly with the organiser before travelling, booking or relying on a listing.

Listed groups and organisers are independent of My Noticeboard. A listing is not our endorsement or a guarantee of quality or safety. We do not inspect venues, check insurance or DBS status, or assess an organiser’s safeguarding arrangements. Check these matters with the organiser when relevant. External sites have their own content and policies.

Contributing information

If you suggest a listing, edit, event or status update, share what you know in good faith. Do not send someone’s private address, personal contact details or health information. We check contributions before publishing where needed, and may correct, withhold or remove them. A suggestion or automated finding is not confirmation from an organiser.

If you send a photo of a public notice, it is used to check the information on it; the photo itself is not automatically published. Only offer a description or image for publication if you have permission to share it. See our privacy notice for how we handle personal information.

Reuse and third-party rights

The structured listing information we make available for reuse is under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Descriptions, photos and logos supplied by others may have separate rights; check with their owner before reusing them. The site contains Office for National Statistics data: © Crown copyright and database right 2026.

Corrections and organiser takedown

Organisers and anyone whose personal information appears in a listing can ask us to correct, anonymise or remove it. Email [email protected] or [email protected], with the listing link and the change needed. We prioritise privacy and safety concerns and can hide a listing while checking them. You can also write to My Noticeboard, Unit 175725, PO Box 7169, Poole, Dorset, BH15 9EL.

Responsibility and applicable law

We take reasonable care in running the directory, but cannot guarantee that third-party listings are current or that the site is always available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate third-party listings, changes to activities or external websites. This does not limit liability for our negligence causing death or personal injury, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. The law of England and Wales applies, and disputes can be brought in its courts, subject to your rights under applicable law.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above shows when this version was published.
