Listings are being checked. Contact a group before you travel. Give feedback to help us improve it.

How we check listings

Groups change their times, move or stop. So every listing says who last checked it and when, and you can decide how much to rely on it.

However recent the check, contact a group before you travel.

What each line means

Confirmed by the organisation: the group itself told us its listing is right, by answering our check or updating it while signed in.

Checked by a professional: a link worker or other professional who refers people there spoke to the group or visited, and told us.

Checked against public information: someone on our team compared it with the group’s own website or social media, a council, town or parish page, or a checked open data list, and it matched. The group has not confirmed it to us directly.

Not recently checked: no check in the last 12 months. It may well still be running: contact them before you go, and tell us if it has stopped.

May be out of date: we asked the group to check its listing and have not heard back.

For a leaflet, guide or website, Checked means we found it still available from whoever made it.

A check means the details matched. It is not an inspection or a recommendation: we don’t check the quality or safety of what a group offers, or who can use it.

How listings are kept up to date

  • Groups can manage their own listing, using “Manage this listing” on its page.
  • Professionals who refer people can use “Check or report this listing”. Checks from one team count as one.
  • Anyone can answer “Is this still on?” on a listing. Answers help us see what to look at, but never count as a check. A “No” goes to a volunteer to look into.
  • Our volunteers and software regularly read groups’ public pages and open data lists. A change is published only when the group confirms it or two independent sources agree; anything else is checked by a person first.
  • Some new groups and events are added from public information when two independent places show them. Their listing says so, and that the group has not confirmed it yet.

Spotted something wrong?

On the listing, use “Suggest a change” or “Report that it has stopped”. If you run a group that isn’t listed, add it.
